After you put together a thesis and outline and conduct your research, you are ready to put everything together. In this project, you will write your rough draft.

OBJECTIVES
Use your outline, thesis statement, and research to write a five-paragraph business proposal.
Instructions:
As you prepare to write a rough draft of your essay, you may find it helpful to read the draft that Martha wrote. View her work in Section 2 of this assignment.

Using Martha's essay as a model and your outline as a plan, construct your argument. Here are some tips to remember as you write your rough draft:

View the rubric (grading requirements) for your proposal in Section 3 of this lesson. Knowing what's expected of you will help you write a better draft.
Do not worry about perfect grammar or style. Just get your ideas down with as much support as possible.
Write from your outline, using its structure as a guide. Your outline will keep you focused and help you avoid leaving out important information.
The length requirement is five paragraphs--at least 500 words.
Remember to document your sources, using MLA format (or the format assigned by your teacher).
Get everything down in writing and then put away your paper until the following day. When you come back to it, you'll be able to catch your mistakes quickly and avoid becoming bored or overwhelmed with your project.
