(A) Dolores saw her husband and a coworker named Barbara go into a hotel under circumstances that made her suspect adultery. While following them after they came out of the hotel, Dolores was told by Fred, another co-worker whose help Dolores had enlisted, that he [Fred] had also seen them go into the same hotel the day before. Dolores took a handgun from the glove compartment of her car and shot Barbara dead. Dolores's conviction of murder was reversed, as the evidence showed guilt only of manslaughter.

(B) During an argument in the shop, Deadhead hit a fellow worker on the head with an iron crowbar, crushing Although Deadhead testified that he did not intend to kill, his conviction of murder was affirmed.

(C) Debtor owed Banker $5000. Impatient at Debtor’s failure to pay, Banker went to Debtor’s office. He demanded payment, brandished a revolver, and threatened to shoot Debtor if he did not pay up. All this occurred in the presence of Debtor’s aged secretary, who as a result of the excitement, died of heart failure on the spot. Banker’s conviction of manslaughter was affirmed.

(D) Duane and Wayne held up a store and tried to escape in their car. Shots from pursuing police disabled the car, and Duane was captured. Wayne fled on foot, commandeered a passing truck, and at gunpoint forced the driver to drive off. A chase extending over 25 miles followed. In an exchange of shots, a policeman was killed and Wayne escaped. Duane’s conviction of murder was affirmed.
