Schools have seen a rise in the number of classroom pets, which some say have psychological
benefits and help teach responsibility. Others say they come with many drawbacks and demand
too much attention. Weigh the positives and negatives of having a classroom pet. Then, write a
claim in which you argue whether or not it would be a good idea to keep a pet in your own
particular classroom. Provide at least two reasons to support your stance.
