The novel " Tell tale- heart by one of the most outstanding authors Edgar Allan Poe, is not only one of the most inspirational novels I read but also the most interesting. This novel is about a unnamed narrator who insists on his sanity after murdering an old man with an vulture eye. The murderer hides the body by cutting it into pieces and hiding it under the floorboards. As you can see, the story is already very mysterious and you just can't wait to read what happens next. The narrator is the protagonist because he has a goal, to destroy the old man's eyes and the story revolves around him and his goal. He is also the antagonist because his guilt is the main reason to why his plan did workout the way he expected. A conflict which is present in this novel is Man Vs self in which the narrator struggles to resist the awful ticking of the dead man's heart and haunts him. One of the most revealing quotes in this novel is " It grew louder-louder-louder". The only thing is that the old man is dead, and there is no sane way he could actually hear him. It shows how paranoid he is and the main conflict of the story. In conclusion, this novel represents a great connection between the protagonist’s and antagonist who are surprisingly the same people.
