I need help with this question about an essay. Marjane and her family hear rumors that Iraq will use ballistic missiles against the people of Iran. Her family is skeptical because they don’t believe Iraq has such sophisticated weapons. Soon, however, Scud missiles begin falling on Tehran. Even though there are warning sirens, there is nowhere to hide. Many people flee Tehran, but Marjane and her family stay so she can continue her French education. Life goes on, and Marjane spends some of her free time with her neighbor Neda. One day, Marjane hears that a bomb has landed in her neighborhood and runs home, worried that her family has been killed. On her street, she sees her mother and learns that everyone in her family is safe—the bomb fell on Neda’s house. Marjane’s mom thinks that no one was home, but as they walk past the rubble, Marjane sees one of Neda’s bracelets. It’s still attached to something, and the sight makes her gasp.
