One of the strangest things happened at summer camp this summer. As I was walking through the woods, I saw a long shake slithering through the crisp, brown leaves. It had a flat head and tiny, bright eyes. It looked as if it had a thin, brown piece of paper crumpled around its middle
Was there something on the snake? I looked closer, and I realized that it was just shedding its skin. The new skin was shiny green with a diamond pattern. Even though it was only a garter snake, I ran quickly back to camp!
