Passage
Every year, the eighth graders at your middle school take a trip to Washington,
D. C., to meet your government representatives and see the important
historical sites. This year, though, your principal is thinking about canceling
the trip and using the money to make some much-needed improvements to
the school building. Write an essay in which you argue for or against
canceling the trip, and give at least two reasons to support your answer.
