Write a reflection paragraph discussing three changes you made to your essay. Explain how you feel each change strengthened your argument.
Volunteering can be a great way to do thing and meet new people. But there is a con to everything, the con of volunteering may be not having time or not having the money. Thinking that volunteering is boring or a waste of time is an opinion not a fact, therefore it's not a con. But it's still note-worthy to many people. Some people may think of volunteering as an opportunity to get out of the house, help the community, or just for the fun. Volunteering has its pros and cons, but it has more pros than cons. Therefore, it should be necessary to graduate.
First, Volunteering can change the way people look at things. Someone might think that a shelter does not treat their animals right at first, but when they volunteer they realize that the shelter takes them in and treats them as their own. When someone volunteers they might change the way they look at that organization. Volunteering also lets other people know it’s a good place and boost it’s reputation by seeing people want to help. In the eighth paragraph it states
Second, Volunteering can help people learn new things and socialize more. When you volunteer you have to learn new things about the organization you are volunteering for. If they want a volunteer to let the dogs out at a shelter and feed the cats, the volunteer will have to learn to multitask if they don’t know how already. They could also friend the people that work/volunteer there. When volunteering they may want to learn how to be nice and respectful to people around them.
Third, Some people may not be able to volunteer. They might be too busy, not have the money, or even a way to get to the organization. People might not have time because they have a job, go to school, or babysit younger siblings. Some people may not have gas money to get back and forth and their family and friends are too busy. Some people might have sick parents, busy families and have no car or licence of their own, and friends might also be busy. But they can walk, get a job, and even busy people can make time.
In conclusion, Volunteering is a fun way to get involved, socialize, and get a new perspective on things. Why should volunteering be necessary? Volunteering will work towards developing new talents, and gain experience. Volunteers will push themselves to do new things, reach individual goals, practice using their abilities, and uncover secret gifts by volunteering. In the eighth paragraph it states “Teens who volunteer tend to do better in school and are less likely to engage in risky behaviors, studies show. They also gain social skills and work experience that can pay off later in life, when they’re looking for jobs.”
