From The Obesity Epidemic Written by Donald McDowell
The United States is facing a massive rise in obesity. If current trends continue, one-third of all children born in the year 2000 or later could suffer from diabetes at some point in their lives. Obese people will also face other chronic health problems like heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, and asthma.
Children become obese through poor diet, lack of exercise, and bad daily habits.
Studies show that 70% of children who are overweight become overweight adults. The health problems they face could mean that many children born after the year 2000 won’t even outlive their parents.

Based on the text, what can you infer about unhealthy eating habits?

a )One-third of all children born in the year 2000 or later could suffer from diabetes.
b) Once established, poor eating habits are very hard to break.
c) Riding a bike to school guarantees a child won't become obese.
