excerpt from "the dream comes true”
by tenzing norgay
but every so often, as had happened all the way, we would have trouble breathing and have to stop and clear away the ice that kept forming in the tubes of our oxygen sets. in regard to this, i must say in all honesty that i do not think hillary is quite fair in the story he later told, indicating that i had more trouble than he with breathing and that without his i might have been in serious difficulty. in my opinion our difficulties were the same—and luckily never too great—and we each and were by the other in equal measure.
which statement best describes the author’s viewpoint of hillary in this excerpt?
he feels that hillary was mistaken in his account and did not tell the whole truth.
he views hillary as a liar and is using this story to shed light on the inconvenient truth.
he sees hillary as a national hero and treasure, emphasizing that he was proud to climb with hillary.
he sees hillary as an inferior climber and is trying to destroy his reputation with this account.
