Omnari is a student going on a scavenger hunt because her history teacher assigned her to do it. She is in the ocean and is heading toward an island that holds some kind of important history.

Hey kiddo. I haven't done this in a while, but I think I understand the concept.

We can assume the setting is as the beach, but if you want to be more precise, we are positive this part of the story is taking place at sea. "Omnari sped toward the island, increasing the speed of her Hover-Ski so it rose a full foot above the water" This quote proves that the setting is taking place on water, and, "severed metal head in a shattered crown staring sadly out to sea," this quote proves it is at sea. The mood being created in the story is located in this excerpt of the story. "...full foot above the water. There was just enough sun to power it" It is trying to evoke a sunny, ordinary yet untraditional feeling in the reader.

i decided to stay late in the laboratory to continue my experiment with the lightbulb. at midnight, thomas edison opened the door and walked in with his head held high.

1. he leaned on the wall and observed me carefully.

2. his harsh scrutiny made me self-conscious of my skills in the lab.

3. perhaps it was just me, but the air in the laboratory began to thicken as i found myself having difficulty to breathe.

4. i turned to look at him fully as i mentally prepared myself for what my very first words would be to thomas edison.

5. the next couple of seconds shocked me. it wasn't me who spoke, but rather him and with diction i could never think of using in a simple sentence.

hey, sorry if this was bad, i really didn't know what to write but i wanted to you. is there anything that you had to include within the excerpt?
