While crossing the road, the turtle had taken an oat beard, which came loose when he was turned over by the truck. Once out of the road, the seeds fell to the ground and the turtle also dragged dirt on its feet, thus enabling the seed to germinate and grow. This new plant then also is symbolic of a new beginning for the people.
