I wpould say that "cloudy night immediately"," close curtain" love-performing night" and "eyes may wink to these arms unseen"  all these three support the motif of darkness because "cloudy night" brought in immediately would mean darkness coming quickly without even stars or a moon, "close curtain, love performing night" is a simile between night and darkness and a closed curtain closing out the daylight, the arms unseen indicates that the lovers arms cannot be seen in the dark it is so pitch black.
