The play "Our Town" by American playwright Thornton Wilder tells the story of a fictitious town called "Grover's Corners." It does so by describing the characters, and their daily lives, in the period between 1901 and 1913.

There are several characteristics that make the play unique. The play is staged in the actual theatre where it is being performed. Therefore, it is unusual in its lack of staging. Moreover, it breaks the fourth wall by directly addressing the audience, and even answering questions from them.
