What unexpected event occurs after frankenstein passes away

Walton finds the monster weeping over Frankensteins body.

Victor Frankenstein dies aboard Captain Walton’s ship. After Frankenstein's death, the monster declares that he will kill himself soon and jumps off the ship. Both characters exhibit dangerous, self-serving behavior throughout the book, and they both die by at the end of the story.
