However, the poem also remarks the difference between the woman Imogen wants to project to others, the funny and carefree person, and her true self, which is riddled with sadness for the fact that she cannot have what her sister has; motherhood. In stanza 4, the poem, however, shows that there is one person who is not swayed by the false self shown by Imogen and can see the truth of her heart; Young George.
