Compare and contrast the poem “we real cool” by gwendolyn brooks with the poem “i’m nobody” by emily dickinson.

The fascinating thing about the two poems is how much they have in common. although brooks and dickinson lived in different centuries, were very different writers, and lived starkly different lives, they both wrote a poem questioning the whole concept of what it means to be “cool.” -
- while “we real cool” speaks from the point of view of seven pool players who choose to hang out instead of going to school, “i’m nobody” speaks from the voice of an individual—a real “nobody”—who would have been beneath the notice of the pool players.
