I remeber this story from 8th grade. 
The answer would be b) the ticking watch.

If there was E) all of the above I would chose that one but there is no "E" So the answer is it depends on the passage your reading and what it says...so basically what passage you are reading and if it has ANY significant meaning to "Symbolism"
