A transition is a word or phrase that writers use to connect their paragraphs, ideas, and parts of texts seamlessly. Transition words help provide unity, flow, as well as clarity between parts of texts, by connecting them in a logical way. These words and phrases are used so as to avoid misunderstandings and faulty connections between paragraphs.

Some examples of transition words would be therefore, in addition, next, consequently, thus, etc.

on the other side of the picture, we must learn also to know that guerilla warfare against the germans in, let us say serbia or norway, us; that a successful russian offensive against the germans us; and that british successes on land or sea in any part of the world strengthen our hands.
