In this activity, you will research and prepare an outline for a research paper on the following writing prompt: Some types of modern technology have affected how people communicate with one another. Cell phones, the Internet, and email are some examples. Choose a type of technology that has changed how people communicate. Then research and write about the history of its invention, how it has developed over time, and how it is used today. Be sure to include evidence from at least two research sources in your paper.

Part A
Remember the qualities to look for when selecting research sources. After you’ve gathered the sources that you plan to use in your paper, list them here. You need at least two sources for your paper. Part B
Next, outline your research paper. The outline should include information for an introductory paragraph, three body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph. One body paragraph should focus on the history of the technology’s invention, one on its development over time, and one on its uses. Fill in the following table to help organize your outline.
