Therefore, they do not listen to anyone else but rather are saddled with the decision-making responsibilities without consulting any other government official.

Generally, it is characterized by a single leader (dictator) having absolute power and as such he or she makes all the rules, policies and decisions without consulting or taking suggestions from anyone else. Some examples of authoritarian government around the world are the government of Idi Amin of Uganda, Adolf Hitler of Nazi Germany, Joseph Stalin of the Soviet Union etc.
