The novels chronicle the lives of a young wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns Harry's struggle against Lord Voldemort, a dark wizard who intends to become immortal, overthrow the wizard governing body known as the Ministry of Magic and subjugate all wizards and Muggles (non-magical people).The genre of this book is fantasy. The author`s name is Joanne Kathleen Rowling, but is most often shortened to J.K. Rowling. The book was published in the United States by Scholastic and in England by Bloomsbury. The release date of the book was the 8 Jut 2000. J.K. Rowling is a British novelist most known as the author of the fantasy series Harry Potter.
