Animals often are fattened up in order to produce better meat for meals, so that is one way they were worse off than cattle. Slavery is an unfair and cruel treatment of human beings that went on for a long time and often the victims of slavery were seen as objects or pets that the owners could do as they please to because they didn't see them as people.
