What are grace abbott's achievements?

A big accomplishment for Abbott was being able to get the Sheppard-Towner Act passed into law. This act allowed for federal and state aid for mothers and children. It also helped provide the first federal grants to aid the social welfare of children, and it helped with maternal and child health as well.

Abbott was head of the Children’s Bureau in the Department of Labor from 1921 until 1934. In 1934 she resigned and became a public welfare professor at University of Chicago.
