When I was four years old, I loved water, but was afraid to swim. I guess I was afraid of the unknown (and death of course). But I saw all of my peers swimming easily and they were having fun in the deep end without me. I weighed the pros and cons. After constant failed attempts to submerge, I eventually found the resolve to learn how to swim.
