The final description of Jack is as follows: “… a little boy who wore the remains of an extraordinary black cap on his red hair and who carried the remains of a pair of spectacles at his waist”. Why do you think Golding used the phrase “little boy” to describe the menacing, horrible Jack in the end of the book? What is he trying to tell us about mankind?
