What is the difference between learning and studying

Learning is taking in new facts, while studying is looking over stuff you already know to prepare for a test. For example: You look over flash cards while studying to remember things you already know. While st school, you take in new information.

The word ‘learn’ also suggests the development of a particular ability or mastering something, it can be a subject or any other skill, and it can be through any means.  However, study is mainly used in the sense spending time to gain knowledge of an academic subject, and mainly through reading.
