In 1995, Mars Incorporated ran a fun contest called the M&M's
Color Campaign Contest. 2 During this contest, people were
allowed to vote for what they wanted the new color of M&M to
be. 3 The choices were purple, blue, and pink. "Blue received the
most votes from participants, which is why the blue M&M exists in
all bags of regular M&Ms today. 5 The winning color was
announced on the hilarious talk shows of David Letterman and
