Checks and balances are an important part of democracy. Why do you believe this to be true, and how might this relate to journalism?

With checks and balances, each of the three branches of government can limit the powers of the others. This way, no one branch becomes too powerful and there is not too much control and power over media companies and what journalists can and cannot publish.

I believe checks and balances are important because it allows the

government to not be controlled by just one group of people. This

relates to journalism because different journalists will have

different influences on people, and may have contradicting

opinions or views on topics than other journalists might have.
