Homework has been part of the American education system for years. Homework helps promote responsibility and
independence in students. Students who complete homework show responsibility. As students move through the
grades, homework should increase, because the concepts students are learning become more difficult. There are not
enough hours in the school day to explore these complex topics fully. Students should have homework every night.
