The famous linguist, Professor Higgins and his friend Colonel Pickering were in the drawing room waiting for the housekeeper,
Mrs. Pearce, to bring in a young woman who said she had business
with Professor Higgins. How disappointed Professor Higgins was
when he realized that the young woman coming to see him was
the same flower-selling woman he'd tossed a bit of money at the
night before. Regardless of the flower girl's protests, Professor
Higgins complained that she was entirely useless, that her accent
had already been studied and recorded before, and that she needed
to be put out on the streets again. However, the more the flower
girls insists she's got a right to language lessons, the more
interested Professor Higgins becomes.
