1."Reading is so bring!" How many times do teachers hear their students say this? Wouldn't they rather hear them say,"I can't put this book down!" This happened if schools allow students to read books of their choice. Our school needs independent reading time every day. 2.We all have different things. So, we all want to read books about topics we like. For example I love playing soccer . So, I would choose to read about my favorite soccer player, Pele. My friend Joseph loves reading mystical stories, so he could read about mysteries during this time. All students would be interested in what they are reading, they will actually look forward to reading .

3.Another reason that we need independent reading time is because reading every day helps improve our reading, which means that having independent reading time-when all students are reading every day for thirty minutes- will help improve our reading abilities.

4.And, best of all, reading books of our choice makes reading fun! We get excited about reading and sharing what we read when we're reading books we like. When i'm reading an exciting book about soccer , it's almost as fun as playing soccer!

5.So, let's start an independent reading program in our school. It will help kids enjoy reading again, and teachers, too!
