A balanced diet is the diet or food which consists of all the vital classes for food and nutrients. For a diet to be regarded as balanced, it must contain the six classes of food which are protein, carbohydrates, vitamin, mineral, fat and oil and water.

The carbohydrate is essential as it provides the human body with energy. It can be found in foods like rice, and starchy foods. Proteins are foods which help in building the body. Examples include meat and beans.

Fats and oils provide energy and also help in the insulation of body organs. Vitamins and minerals help in healing of wounds, forming red blood cells, bolster our immune system etc. Wate is also essential as it helps in the digestion of food.

A balanced diet should contain each of this nutrients discussed for the proper functioning of the body system and to also keep us healthy.
