Reread the poem, "I look at the world" by Langston Hughes, and think about its meaning. Then, think about about how YOU look at the world. Either distant, or from your immediate surroundings.
What do you see from your own eyes?
What might be holding you back?
Or what is pushing you forward?
What choices do you need to make?
Are there any barriers that need to come down?
If so, what are they?
These are just questions to give you ideas to think. Do not stick to these only.

Requirements:
Once you've jotted down your own ideas write a poem about it in this manner:

Title: I look at the world
Length: THREE (3) stanzas
Length: FIVE (5) lines per stanza
Rhyme: It does not need to rhyme; but I challenge you to do so.
* You may only copy the one line that reads: "I look at the world". THAT'S IT.
NO OTHER LINE MAY BE COPIED IN ANY WAY!

poem: I look at the world
From awakening eyes in a black face—
And this is what I see:
This fenced-off narrow space
Assigned to me.

I look then at the silly walls
Through dark eyes in a dark face—
And this is what I know:
That all these walls oppression builds
Will have to go!

I look at my own body
With eyes no longer blind—
And I see that my own hands can make
The world that’s in my mind.
Then let us hurry, comrades,
The road to find.
