Transitions are very important when it come to essays, especially compare and contrast essays. If the transitions weren’t in the essay, then the essay would just be a bunch of un-organized words. For example, if I were to be in the middle of my essay and say ‘Cyberbullying is picking on someone continually through the internet. Bullying is continually picking on someone and calling them names in real life,” well that just doesn’t make sense. You can’t tell that I am trying to compare and contrast. I’m just stating facts. Now what if I said ‘cyberbullying is when you continually pick on someone through a screen, unlike bullying, which is the same thing, but without a screen.’ Do you see how much better it is?
