Is fish meat? Explorers still come to the New World, but they are not looking for fish. What would our history look like instead? Which areas, if any, would have been settled and prospered?
What might have happened to the area now known as Atlantic Canada? Would Britain and France still make claims to the territory? Maybe the Spanish, who were conquered in South America, would have taken North America too. You certainly don't have to address these questions above, they are only examples of the endless scenarios that you could explore.
