I had a question about in-text citations and when and how to quote different sections of the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics. Here are some examples. Each example is different but I don't know if I cite it properly and when to cite it.

Example1: In this case, Darla should not follow Section 1.2.a. of the ACA Code of Ethics and approach Mike directly (American Counseling Association, 2014).

My question: Is that the correct way?

Example 2:

She could rather follow Section 1.2.c and consult with her supervisor.

My question: Do I have to cite the source at the end?

Example 3:

Since Darla is not a professional counselor and has very little experience, discussing it with her supervisor in accordance with Section I.2.c will allow her to determine if the behavior was unethical It is then the responsibility of the supervisor to address these concerns with Mike.

Example 4:

The counseling supervisor can then evaluate and rectify the issue with Mike. If an ethical violation occurred, the supervisor would need to report the violation to the State Professional Counselor Licensure Boards.

My Question: It is taking out of a section in the ethics code. however, it's just paraphrased.

Also, when do I use in-text citations and when not. Since I'm using different sections of the code to justify the answer, what could I do to avoid too much referencing?

Thank you.
