used for 2000 years as a way to record stuff made and traded and later to record ideas
Western Society still has written language today
Sumerian Government/Society organized in similar way as we are today
the President/kling replaced priests as rulers (religion did not rule)
making laws, collecting taxes, keeping records (scribes) protecting city-state from invaders
Math was recorded on bones untill Cuiniforms made a way to record goods made and sold and then mass production was possible

Sumerian City states were the beginning of organized societies and the organization of classes and trade skills as well as agriculture, math and recorded language. Many of the Sumer City state citizens were able to create/invent tools out of necessity due to a lack of resources. the Sumer people invented the idea of mass producing things so they could get the corner on the market in trade.
