For this assignment, you will create YOUR OWN poem based on a historical event of your choice. Your Guidelines:
● Decide which historical event you want to write about
● Model your poem after Paul Revere’s Ride
● Your poem must be a minimum of 24 lines
● You can organize your stanzas however way you’d like
● There must be a rhyme scheme (ABAB, AABB, ABBA, etc.) Again, your choice.
● Decide both the mood and tone for your poem
● You must use figurative language (similes, metaphors, allusion, alliteration, etc.)
throughout your poem.
● Your audience is elementary school children, so make it kid-friendly!
● Font: 12 point, Times New Roman, Italicized
● Your poem must have
