People often look for answers when strange things happen. This is their way of trying to take control of a situation. Human beings are extremely fragile and when one odd thing occurs they often go into a tailspin looking for answers. And since many don't know the science that could easily explain these phenomenon, they go and create absolute garbage to satisfy their needs of control.
