We know that Jules Verne is the author of Journey to the Center of the Earth. This book is a classic that has spawned many adventure stories, television shows and at least two movies. In order to understand
the book a little bit better, it helps if we know a little something about the author. Write down a couple of
questions that you think might be helpful or interesting to know about him. Once you have generated
those questions, it is time to do a little detective work. Using the Internet (remember focus on sites that
seem reputable) or your local library and helpful librarian, try to find answers to the questions you came
up with. Write out your answers to the questions in a 100-word response in your journal.
