A Big Dream   Penelope had one goal in life – to become a celebrity of the silver screen. While sitting in class, she often dreamed of starring in blockbuster movies, walking red carpets at movie premieres, and becoming fabulously wealthy. One day, while she was dreaming about starring in her first film, her teacher interrupted her. “Penelope, did you hear anything I just said?” Mrs. Frost asked. “Uh…I sure did, Mrs. Frost,” Penelope responded unconvincingly.“All right then. Explain the difference between acute and obtuse angles,” Mrs. Frost prodded. “Umm…a cute angle is obviously much prettier and better looking than the obtuse ones,” Penelope jokes. “You need to stop daydreaming and pay attention, young lady,” Mrs. Frost scolded. “Phffft. I’m going to be a famous celebrity. Movie stars don’t need to learn science,” Penelope responded, adding a dramatic eye roll. “For someone who is not famous, you should take note that science ended twenty minutes ago and we are now in the middle of math class. You need to take school seriously, Penelope,” said Mrs. Frost with a look of disappointment on her face. Days like these were typical for Penelope, and she never listened to Mrs. Frost’s advice. Unfortunately, she continued to ignore her schoolwork to pursue an acting career. Her only plan in life was to become a celebrity, and she didn’t care if she failed all of her classes in order to focus on that goal. However, Penelope had a big problem. She wasn’t very good at acting. Penelope went to several auditions and casting calls, but she was always rejected. When directors and agents told her to try another endeavor, Penelope ignored them. After going on dozens of auditions, she never got even a small part in any movie. When Penelope finally realized that she wasn’t going to become a celebrity any time soon, she knew that she had made a big mistake. She was so far behind in school that she had failed all of her classes and had to go to summer school. Now she really wished she had worked harder in school just in case her celebrity dreams didn’t work out.
