One day, she was just about to fall asleep when she heard a cricket chirping. She hooted at the cricket to keep quiet, but the cricket chirped back that it had no intention of stopping. Owl then said to the cricket, "Well, if you won't be quiet, then I may as well try and enjoy your beautiful chirping song. Why don't you hop up here and chirp your tune closer to me so that I might hear it better." The cricket was flattered by the compliment and hopped all the way up the tree to sing and chirp right next to Owl.
