Read this passage from a speech made by England's Prime Minister, Winston Churchill a few months after France, Britain's ally in World War II, fell to Nazi Germany. Then, answer the
question(s).

means. That will be the struggle. In that supreme emergency, we shall not hesitate to take
every step, even the most capable. The interest of property, the hours of labor, are nothing
compared with the struggle for life and honor, for right and freedom, to which we have
vowed ourselves.
