Read the excerpt. Explain two inferences you can make from the text. From deep within the shadows, strong hands seized Zafarin, dragging him roughly into the alleyway. A muscular arm wound itself around his waist while a firm hand locked over his mouth.

"Calm down, Zaf!" a voice hissed in his ear. "It's me."

Instantly, Zafarin relaxed and was released."What are you doing, Dane?"

"Aren't you happy to see your brother?"

"Not when he frightens me to death," Zafarin huffed.

"Shush!" Dane glanced over his shoulder."Come with me. I'll explain later."

"What is this place?" Zafarin whispered."A safe house. Come."
