An important or interesting character was Freak/Kevin. Even know he had to struggle with a disability, he was very smart and brave. He gave Max confidence and always had his back. He went as far as risking his life for a friend. His encouragement and friendship with Max, changed Max. He helped Max overcome his learning disability, tutoring him and giving him ways to study, which improved his grades dramatically. At the end of the book, his death even encouraged Max to read and write a book. Overall, Freak was an interesting character by the way he ignored his disability and helped others conquer their struggles.
