Write the "Explain" portion of this APE paragraph: Prompt: Write an essay explaining what impact presidential elections have on the country.

APE: Presidential elections can have a dramatic impact on the fate of the country. According to the United States Government website, “As Commander-in-Chief, the President has direct and immediate control over the military.”

Remember:
- Pretend the reader is NOT familiar with the writing topic - Do not assume your reader understands your fact or quote!
- After the quote spend at least 1 sentence clarifying what the quote means (“This means that…”)
