How do u see the relationship between grace and mali in the novel vendor of sweets give exsamples

Chapter - The Vendor of Sweets

The relationship of Grace and Mali was not a strong one because they were very different from each other like:

Jagan respects his culture. He values the traditions.He wears homespun cloth.He tries his best to maintain his way of life like Gandhiji. Jagan carries with him the legacy of being a freedom fighter in India's struggle against the British. He believed and cared for those values truly.

Whereas:

Mali has not that much respects about his culture.He finds them backward.He doesn't love his father because he finds him the cause of his Mother's death.He went to America without permission.

That's why, they were different and relationship was incapable of overcoming those differences.
