A. one question i’m often asked, by both students and parents, is “why did you decide to become a teacher? ” i wish i could figure out a simple answer to this seemingly simple question, but the truth is, i’m not quite sure myself. there are many reasons why teaching is a great choice for a profession, but there are also many reasons why this job is not for everyone. if you are seriously considering becoming a teacher for a career, then it’s probably a good idea for you to consider some of the pros and cons of this particular job. ii. the cons of teaching:
a. low salaries: everyone knows—teachers do not make a great deal of money. not only is teacher pay relatively low compared to other professions, it also does not get much better over time. a teacher who has been working twenty-five years doesn’t make substantially more than a teacher who’s only been in the profession for three years. what is the best way to summarize section a in part ii, "the cons of teaching? "
a. the biggest drawback to teaching is the low pay.
b. veteran teachers and new teachers practically earn the same salary.
c. it is obvious to most people that teachers do not make a lot of money.
