My childhood dog, Marie, was growing old. Her fur was growing grey and dull, and her health was declining at a rapid rate. The poor thing was diagnosed with a sickness that would cost quite a bit to treat.

Before she got sick, I had been saving some money for myself to buy a nice new computer. It took many years and I gave almost reached it.

My parents didn't want to pay for it and told me it was time to let her go, but I just couldn't.  How could I let my little furry friend that always sticks by my side just die like that?

Time was running out and I had to make a decision.

What was more important? A computer, or my little dog?

I have the rest of my life to buy myself a computer. My dog is way more important to me. So I told my parents that I would pay for her treatment myself, because I love her.

They were hesitant to allow me, but seeing how much I cared for her, they agreed. And now my little fluffy companion is still by my side as I'm writing this.
